Lawn Care Program

• Premium: Our Premium Program is a testament to our commitment to lawn health. With five treatments per year, including fertilizer, pre- and post-emergent crabgrass and weed management, and insect and fungus control, keep lawns in top condition all year round.
• Organic-Based: Our Organic-Based Program consists of five treatments per year. We use organic, natural fertilizers to help the grass grow, and synthetic products control weeds, insects, and fungi.

Insect and Fungus Control

• Kentucky Bluegrass Fungus Treatments: Kentucky Bluegrass is popular in Denver because it is drought-resistant and provides excellent lawn quality, color, density, and texture. Necrotic Ring Spot (NRS) is a soil-borne fungus that causes doughnut circles of dead grass with green centers. NRS occurs in late July and August. Ross Tree treats NRS with sulfur and fungicide-based fertilizers.
• Grub Control: A telltale sign of grub damage is yellowish-tinged grass. Grubs damage the grassroots when feeding and tunneling. We control White and Ten-lined June grubs with insecticides when eggs are beginning to hatch. We also treat Billbugs when adults are present on the surface of the lawn in the springtime.
• Turf Mites: Late winter droughts followed by dry springs create perfect conditions for turf mites in Denver. These mites cause large brown patches to appear on lawns. Lawn miticide treatments and supplemental watering will help minimize damage from these invertebrates.
